Custom Diamond Rings

Your ring, your spec.
Without paying someone else's rent.

A custom diamond ring should not cost what the retail jewellery industry charges for one. The markup built into a high-street or boutique ring purchase covers commercial rent, sales commissions, marketing budgets, and retailer margins — none of which relate to the quality of the ring itself. At Quorum, we give you full customisation over your piece and source it directly from the manufacturer at wholesale volume, so the price you pay reflects the actual quality of the stone and the metalwork — and nothing else.

Where ring prices come from

Most of what you pay isn't the ring.

When a jeweller prices a diamond ring, the stone and metal account for a fraction of the retail price. The rest is absorbed by the cost of running a retail business: commercial lease, staff wages, advertising, insurance, packaging, and the retailer's own margin on top. Industry estimates suggest retail jewellery is typically marked up 100–300% over wholesale cost. That means a ring that costs a retailer $600 might sell for $1,200–$2,400 — not because the ring is worth that, but because the retail model requires that margin to function. Online jewellers reduce some of these costs, but they still carry their own overheads and profit requirements. Quorum's model removes the retail layer entirely by going direct to the manufacturer.

What customisation means at Quorum

Stone, cut, metal, and colour — made to your specification.

Every Quorum piece is made to order. When you join a group buy, you select your specifications independently of other participants. Current customisation options include stone type (lab grown diamond, with specific shape and size options per drop), metal (solid yellow gold, white gold, or sterling silver depending on the drop), and ring size. Available cuts and stone sizes vary by drop — each group buy is built around a specific design that has been sourced and priced at the manufacturing level. This means the customisation is genuine and granular, not a colour choice on a pre-made design.

The group buy model for rings

One ring. Wholesale pricing. No minimum order from you.

To access manufacturer pricing, suppliers require a minimum order quantity — typically far beyond what a single buyer needs. Group buying solves this by aggregating individual orders until the collective meets the manufacturer's threshold. When Quorum opens a ring drop, you can join with a single order at your chosen specification. As the group grows and passes pricing tiers, the discount increases for every participant. You do not need to purchase multiple rings or coordinate with other buyers — the platform handles aggregation automatically. Once the drop closes, the consolidated order goes to the manufacturer, and your custom ring is made to your specification.

Quality you don't have to trade off

Lower cost. Same quality standards.

Every diamond sold through Quorum is IGI-certified — graded for Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat by an independent body, not by the seller. Settings are made in solid gold or sterling silver by established manufacturers who supply the wholesale jewellery trade. The labour, materials, and craftsmanship are the same as what you'd receive from a fine jewellery wholesale supplier. The saving comes from removing the retail distribution layer and from the volume leverage of the group buy — not from cutting corners on the piece itself.

Engagement rings and Quorum

The case for a lab grown engagement ring.

The engagement ring industry is one of the most heavily marketed product categories in the world. The expectation of a diamond engagement ring was largely manufactured by De Beers in the mid-twentieth century — and the expectation that it should cost two months' salary was a later addition to the same campaign. Many buyers are now making the deliberate choice to spend on quality rather than marketing-driven convention: choosing a lab grown stone with a certified grade, a setting that suits the wearer's actual preference, and a price that reflects material value rather than retail theatre. Quorum is built for exactly this buyer — someone who wants a genuinely beautiful, certified piece and doesn't want to pay for the overhead of a retail channel they don't need.

Common questions

Can I get an engagement ring through Quorum?

Yes. Ring drops include engagement-appropriate styles. Each drop specifies the design — if you're looking for a specific style, check active drops or sign up to be notified when relevant ones open.

What if I need a ring size that isn't standard?

Ring size is selected at time of ordering. We accommodate a full range of standard sizes. For unusual sizes, contact us before joining a drop to confirm availability.

Is a custom ring from Quorum suitable as a gift?

Yes. Made-to-order pieces come in Quorum packaging and include the IGI grading certificate for the stone. Delivery is tracked.

How do I know the diamond grade I'm getting?

All stones are IGI-certified. The grade (Cut, Colour, Clarity, Carat) is specified in the drop listing and confirmed in the grading report that ships with the piece.

Can I see the design before committing?

Each drop includes detailed photography and specification of the design. We are working on 3D visualisation for future drops. If you have questions about a specific design, contact us before the drop closes.
